Anime City is coming to Steam in 2024

The new game I have been working on for over a year already – Anime City – is coming to Steam in 2024. You can add it to your Steam wishlist now:

https://store.steampowered.com/app/2215410/Anime_City/

The game is built on the same core ideas as Shoujo City 2D and Shoujo City 3D, and is focused on high school life and building relationships with one of dateable characters you can meet throughout gameplay. But it’s neither a remake nor a sequel to the two previous games: all the assets and gameplay mechanics are being designed from a scratch. Please check the linked Steam page for more details.

EDIT: release is delayed from 2023 to 2024.

Not any time soon, sorry. This is a large scale project. Steam release will come first. Mobile versions most likely will come by the end of 2023, or maybe even in 2024.

We want the same on the mobile because of the inability to get it from Steam when it becomes available. I hope there will be a version for the phone

Im very happy to see this. But i noticed that the game requires 8gb ram to run. Neither my laptap nor my pc have 8GB RAM:(

It doesn’t really matter for the time being, I think. By the time the full version of the game is released, you (and everyone else) will have a new computer and/or phone already.

Also, unlike mobile games, computer games don’t really require “minimum RAM” to work. Insufficient RAM will just result in your PC using hard drive for RAM paging, causing lower FPS/longer loading times.

Thank you for your reply. What I want to ask is: Do you need a good video card for your new game? My computer has only one independent video card. The model is Radeon HD 6470M. Is it enough to play this game?

No. I doubt that you can get 60 FPS even in Shoujo City 3D with that old GPU. And the new game will be at least two times more demanding for hardware.

Skin tones will be adjustable, within typical anime range. So if you are asking about designing characters that will look African-American, Indian, etc., no, there will be nothing like that. This game is about Japanese culture, and all the characters will be Japanese.

Yes. But adding various languages will take some time, and most probably won’t happen on the first release.

There will be the same kanji test as in Shoujo City 3D. All other school and after school activities will be new and with different mechanics.

Hi, it’s me again! This time I really want to know if the new game would be free or paid. If it’s paid, I want to know the cost of this game.

Base version on mobile will be free, with some additional paid content. PC version will be paid. Same as Shoujo City 3D.
