☆ Math class and art club

New Math (Arithmetic) class was added to the school schedule. Now it looks like this:

  • Monday : Arithmetic
  • Tuesday : Japanese
  • Wednesday : PE
  • Thursday : Arithmetic
  • Friday : Japanese
  • Saturday : PE

Math test consists of 20 tasks with basic operations (addition, subtraction, division, multiplication). Completing a test (one error is allowed) will give you +5 science skill points.

In the school art club you can color pages to increase your arts skill (+5 points if you color a picture with at least 90% accuracy).

☆ UI changes

Girlfriend’s inventory and status buttons were removed from toolbar and in-game smartphone and now are available through new menu in the top-right corner appearing when you talk to your girlfriend.

In pillow dating mode, pillow’s status window appears if you click on pillow in your inventory.

☆ Other additions and improvements

  • Fixed a bug that didn’t allow to start a date in pillow dating mode.
  • A new setting was added to the main menu and in-game smartphone allowing to disable anti-aliasing. Disabling it will significantly improve performance and increase FPS (about 30% improvement) on weak devices (at expense of game visuals).

☆ Update 0.9.5a (July 9, 2019)

  • Fixed a bug with NPC not saying correct messages after some interactions.
  • Fixed a bug with incorrect camera angle during date in some cases.
  • Fixed a bug with incorrect camera position in the title menu.
  • Fixed a  bug with math test that produced two identical test answers in some cases.
  • Fixed a bug with character interaction triggers that caused incorrect look angles (for NPCs) under certain circumstances.
  • Restored a missing collider on one of tables in the Akihabara cafe.
  • Plants in pots no longer lose leaves if not watered. Watering is now required only to get fruits from mikan and orange trees.

I’m not able to do any activities until my girlfriend is feed completely, which can be a waste of time and me missing a class. She keeps saying “ Let’s eat something first.” Which is annoying because I thought that I could feed her two times, get on with the lesson, then accompany her the rest of the day.

Making realistic seasons of the year would be very time-consuming (months of work), but would not add much to gameplay. So most probably there won’t be seasons.

Yes, I’m planning to add lockers/cupboards soon, which will accommodate all kinds of items (including clothes). The reason why current storages don’t allow clothes is that most clothes don’t have any 3D models to display on shelves. I will probably make something like lockers with closed doors so that items inside won’t be visible.

Most items are deeply integrated into game design (especially hair & clothes, which require very specific weight painting to be fully compatible with all possible animations and clothing options), so preparing models and textures which will meet all requirements will be quite long process.
Every few months somebody contacts me volunteering to make some models, but by the time we finish discussing all the details and requirements, that person is gone already never to be heard of again. Exactly the same scenario happened 5-6 times already, and nobody thus far contributed anything. I think most people grossly underestimate amount of time required for this kind of work. Which is why they are always gone after realizing it’s not something they can do in a few odd minutes of their free time.

If you are still sure you have enough free time and dedication for this, please contact me by email.

On the other hand, if you want to contribute something without sacrificing days and weeks of your time, you can help with writing dialogues for dating scenes instead. Gameplay-wise, one new dialogue is as valuable as one new hat, but will require just a few minutes instead of hours (or days) of work. The only thing required is a bit of creativity. There are many conversation topics requiring expansion, and a few topics that don’t have as yet any dialogues at all.

Is there a way you can add English(or any language) as one of the language classes not everybody speaks or understands Japanese or Chinese, also the math should be easier because some people are not good at math, I realise it’s a game, but it shouldn’t be so difficult.

Japanese kanji test contains 1,000 tasks with four answers for each. This was possible because there are full kanji lists on Wikipedia with translations. I spent one day copying and formatting them from Wikipedia through automated scripts, and it’s done.
Manually compiling a similar list with 1,000 tasks testing English language grammar/spelling would take an infinite amount of time, I guess. It’s not really feasible unless I find somewhere a long list of English language tests, that can be just copied into the game without writing all of that by hand.
